Cultivating HeartSight: A 5-week journey into deepening with creation, self, God

What if the doorway to knowing God more deeply isn't found by trying harder — but by learning to see differently?

Heart Sight is a whole-bodied way of relating to "the first Bible" (aka creation), to yourself, to God, and to others. Emerging out of Paula's doctoral work on the Franciscan view of Creation, she's curated a shared, 5-week, online experience where together we'll practice four simple shifts — Language, Ordinary Gratitude, Vulnerability, and EnJOYment — that open up creation as a doorway to authentic living, rather than a backdrop or occasional break from our hustle.

Each live session includes teaching, a guided outdoor noticing practice (a window or your imagination is enough), gentle body-based reflection, and small-group time to be welcomed and witnessed — not fixed, not advised, just seen.

This isn't about doing more. It's about noticing what's already here.

"Sometimes I need

only to stand

wherever I am

to be blessed."

~Mary Oliver (It was Early)

Cultivating Heart Sight through L.O.V.E.

  • Week 1 — Language: Moving from "it" to "she," "he," "sister," "brother" — and why that small shift matters more than it seems.

  • Week 2 — Ordinary Gratitude: Slowing down for the everyday gifts of creation we usually walk right past.

  • Week 3 — Vulnerability: What bare branches and molting birds teach us about being mid-process without apology.

  • Week 4 — EnJOYment: Delight that doesn't need to justify itself.

  • Week 5 — Integration & Sharing: Noticing, naming and nurturing our sense of Creator's ongoing invitations to aliveness we might both give and receive.

The Message

"But ask the animals what they think --

let them teach you;

let the birds tell you what's going on.

Put your ear to the earth -- learn the basics.

Listen -- the fish in the ocean will tell you their stories.

Isn't it clear that they all know and agree that God is sovereign

and holds all things in God's hand -

every living soul, yes, and every breathing creature?

Isn't this all just common sense, as common as the sense of taste?"
