Doorways 3 - 2025-2026

DW3 is designed to help you deepen in your ability to create unhurried spaces of offering this Inner Relationship Focusing way of listening and loving to others. At the completion of DW3 you will feel more confident in your ability to guide a Focusing process and you will become a Focusing Oriented Spiritual Director (if you are trained in SD) or Soul Companion (if not trained in SD).

Since you're here, you're aware that Focusing has changed your life in a profound way. And, perhaps you sense an inner tug to help facilitate this kind of powerful change for others.

➡️ DW3 is a 10 month, online cohort to help empower you toward integrating Focusing in your current profession, or just growing more comfortable in bringing Focusing to your family or community.

➡️ DW3 is the first year toward becoming a Certified Focusing Professional (as recognized by The International Focusing Institute).

➡️ DW 3 will help you deepen in your ability to help another listen to and love God, self and others. We hope you will feel more @E.A.S.E.™️ In inviting others to this wholehearted way of living, moving and having their being.

➡️ DW 3 will begin September 15th, 2025 and meet on Mondays from 9 -11am Pacific. (Ends June 1, 2026)

September 15th - Welcome and Ways into Felt Sensing

One of the unique things about the modality of Focusing is the Felt Sense.

This week I’ve loaded some videos of different people talking about it: Gene Gendlin, Ann Weiser Cornell, and Ed and Pete (Biospirituality).

There are also a few different handouts.

I find it interesting to need so many words to describe what cannot be put into words. And yet, reading/listening to how seasoned practitioners speak of it can be helpful for your growing sense of helping to cultivate an environment where a FS is more likely to come forward and be noticed and nurtured.

September 29th - The unique philosophy of lasting change

This week, we’re touching on what we’ve already experienced - that the way we turn toward whatever comes matters! As Parker Palmer offers, our souls are like deers in the woods. If we want to see them we cannot go stomping through the underbrush calling them to come out.

The other thing Focusing holds is that change happens not by fixing, doing, strategizing, but by being/allowing the process of Life that wants to live to flow.

We have experienced this in our own Focusing and in Partnerships. This week we’ll talk more about ways to help foster this radical welcome in clients that are new to Focusing or are just beginning.
